Seeing thousands of people walking on the road with children in lap and luggage on their shoulders in the middle of night, naturally it jolted our soul. Felt as if there is a exodus and people are running for their life, this happened on night of March 26th 2020, when the complete lockdown was clamped in India due to Covid without any forewarning or planning. We were out for a urgent medical call and on the way back we saw people walking on M.G. Road (NH-48) towards Delhi. We talked to them, that, why they are walking like this, they told ,they are walking towards railway station/ bus stand to go to their home town. Some of them had already walked 50-60 miles and it was still another 20-30 miles to go, even then it was not certain, that, they will get any means of transportation from thereon.... and on top of that, these people didn't have any food or water with them because they left their jhuggis in huff...then on the spot we decided to provide Biscuits and water to them.
